We’re proud to be leading the first ever Matrescence Awareness Week which will take place between 26 September to 2 October 2026. Matrescence Week takes place during one of the UK’s busiest weeks for births and the 40th week of the year, reminding us that while thousands of babies arrive, every mother is also going through a profound transformation.During the week, we’re inviting mothers, families, friends, and communities to reflect on one simple question:

Why does matrescence matter to you?

We’ll be posting content throughout the week on our social media accounts so make sure to follow us and keep an eye out for ways to get involved.

Are you a charity partner who wants to support the campaign?

We’d love your help to:

Spread awareness: Post our graphics, videos and suggested captions across your channels throughout the week.

Start the conversation: Ask your community: Why does matrescence matter to you?

Educate and amplify: Help more people understand what matrescence is and why it matters for mothers, families, friends and communities.

Help us make matrescence an everyday term.

Together, we can help more mothers understand that what they are experiencing has a name — and that they are not alone.
